This specially curated journey has been personally developed by Amy Subaey over the past 15 years, shaped through guiding hundreds of women across East Africa and refining each departure to create an experience that feels both safe and deeply transformative.
Every detail — from pacing and accommodation choices to emotional preparation and on-the-ground support — reflects years of experience leading women into unfamiliar landscapes with confidence, care, and community.
This is a small-group journey designed to help you feel present, capable, and connected to nature, to community, Fly at night on Rwanda Air, giving us a full 3 days of activities.
Itinerary In Brief: Rwanda Weekend (3 days, 2 nights)
Saturday, Nov 29: Arrival 6:30 am and breakfast in cafe, tour the genocide museum and the local marketand then drive to Musanze for 2 hours. Have Lunch in Musanze and then kayak down the river. Le Bambou overnight.
Sunday, Nov 30: Tracking in Rwanda: Afternoon Kayaking Tour to Volcanoes National Park to meet your ranger and head out the jungle to meet the gorillas for an unknown period of time, usually around 3-4 hours. After tracking, Le Bambou for the night.
Monday, DEC 1: Choose Activity: Track Golden Monkeys OR climb to Diane Fossey Memorial on the Bisoke Volcano. Lunch at Le Bambou, and drive back to Kigali. Dinner at Milles Collines and head to the airport.
Tuesday, DEC 2 - morning at 8:30 am - arrive to Dubai

Nothing quite prepares you to visit the gorillas in the wild.
You will definitely see them the only variable is how long it will take you to reach them.

Good fitness is recommended and ability to climb through heavy jungle, so full mobility.
The Gorilla Tracking can be adapted to accommodate any fitness level, but the fitter you are the more fun it will be.

Le Bambou Gorilla Lodge (1 nights)
This ia a 3 star lodge, one of the very few lodges that is not in the top tier range priced at over 1600 USD per night. We have been staying here, a locally owned lodge, for the last 15 years. They are very comfortable and clean lodges located conveniently close to your activities. All of your meals are cooked fresh and clean in the hotel.

Rwanda is noted to be one of the safest countries in the world for single female travelers due to their very strict anti harassment laws. Besides this you will be with an organized tour the whole time, staying in touristic hotels and going to places only tourists go. There is no unsafe places at all. The risk of Ebola is very low, in the previous outbreaks, Rwanda has never had a confirmed case. They are very strict with cross border checks.
Pricing :
We have amended the itinerary for this trip. There is only a slight increase in the overall cost although the permit fees are double what is charged in Uganda.
