Mt Kenya Trekking Peak: 4895M

  • UAE Trekkers Nanyuki, Laikipia County Kenya (map)

Climb to Mt Kenya’s highest Trekking Peak: Point Lenana at 4895m over 5 days. More beautiful and scenic than you can imagine, without the crowds of Kilimanjaro. A great ‘test’ to see if you are ready for Kili, and a really enjoyable mountain even if you have already climbed it!

Camp in a comfortable single tent with a private toilet, with all food prepared for you along with expert guides and amazing food for 5 days. Full itinerary below but using the night flights on Kenya Air, we will fly at night and drive on the first day, leave on the last day on the evening flight for a fast in and out trek. This route, the Chagoria Traverse, is excellent for good acclimatization despite being a bit tired on Day 1.

  • Fitness is essential

Less training than Kilimanjaro but still, it is NOT an easy trek for most people. The summit push is just 4 hours, but at 4600 m, no easy task! Coming down is also challenging on a scree slope so no skipping the downhill training!
