From our choice in lodging (local owned and operated) to the food, villages, farms and wadis, we let the locals guide us.

Cost: 2400 Dh for the first 5 to sign up

  • Regular Price: 2900 Dh

  • Transportation to Oman from Dubai Or Abu Dhabi is included in the cost.

  • Limited Registration: Maximum of 12 people

  • Given the hurdles of using your own vehicle to reach Oman. (no rentals, no mortgage and MUST be an SUV).
    We hope this makes the journey accessible to more people!

This is a curated cultural and nature weekend for families, children, and active hikers — no technical experience required.

  • 🏔️ DAY 1 — Saturday

    Dubai / Abu Dhabi → Al Hamra

    • Morning departure from Dubai & Abu Dhabi

    • Scenic drive through the Hajar Mountains - stopping at Castles and other sights along the way

    • Afternoon arrival at Salam Inn (heritage accommodation)

    • Guided walk through Al Hamra village

    • Explore date farms and traditional mud-brick homes

    • Experience local life during harvest season

    • Sunset dinner with traditional Omani cuisine

    Focus: Arrival into the cultural landscape

    🌄 DAY 2 — SUNDAY

    Sunrise, Villages & Falaj Systems

    • Pre-dawn drive to Misfat mountain summit

    • Sunrise descent hike through the highlands

    • Guided village tour with local Omani expert

    • Walk through terraced farms and ancient pathways

    • Traditional lunch in the village

    • Falaj irrigation walk — follow the water channels from their source

    These systems, some over 2,000 years old, still supply water to farms and homes today

    • Evening return + dinner at Salam Inn

    Focus: Understanding Omani life through water and community

    DAY 3 — MONDAY

    Wadi Nakhar & Cultural Heritage

    • Morning drive to Wadi Nakhar

    • Guided hike along the canyon floor (~1 hr 15 min)

    • Reach natural pool (swim optional)

    • Packed lunch in the wadi

    • Return to Al Hamra

    • Vintage village tour experience

    • Visit Beit Al Safah (women-led cooperative)

      • Frankincense products

      • Traditional crafts

      • Cultural storytelling

    • Farewell dinner

    Focus: Nature + heritage + community enterprise

    🚗 DAY 4 — TUESDAY

    Return to UAE

    • Breakfast at Salam Inn

    • Departure back to Dubai & Abu Dhabi

    Focus: Return with perspective, not just memories

  • 6 months on your PASSPORT
    • No visa required but you must have your passport.
    • Residency is not required
    • Car on loan may require NOC from the bank
    • Oman insurance is required on car

    • Walking over rocky entrance to the wadi due to recent rainful but this actually is great, keeps the crowds away! No cars allowed into Wadi Nakhar

    • Swimming

    • Hikes are downhill on a solid path

    • Villages and Falaj walking paths

  • TRANSPORTATION FROM DUBAI OR ABU DHABI

    • 3 nights in guest houses - Shared basis

    • Dinners, breakfast and lunch

    • Experienced Wilderness First Aid Guides (English speaking)

    • First Aid/Safety Equipment

    • All visits and sites

  • This trek will go ahead with a minimum of 3 people booked. If the trip is not filled up 2 days before the hike, you will be refunded in full.
