Our longest-running and most beloved experience, the Liwa Desert weekend has been bringing our community into the Empty Quarter since 2017, running each season from October through April.

Our last April Liwa Desert Trek was everything we all needed. Getting together with people from Abu Dhabi and Dubai in the quiet and peace offered only in the desert dunes, a relaxing and refreshing retreat atmosphere and a chance to exercise outdoors.
We feel our community needs this escape now more than ever and have decided to change it up a bit to more can enjoy this much needed escape. We are making this Saturday all about families with added special activities to keep the kids busy so the parents can relax!

We celebrate the Closing Chapter of the Season! As the desert begins to warm and another Liwa season draws to a close, this retreat marks our final return to the dunes before summer arrives.
Since 2017, Liwa has been the heart of UAE Trekkers — a place where strangers become friends, where the noise of the city fades, and where the vast stillness of the Empty Quarter reminds us how simple and grounding life can feel off the grid.

The day after our Desert Revival Weekend belongs to your family. The Liwa Family Day is a full-day outdoor adventure designed for parents who need a break and kids who need to run wild — in one of the most dramatic landscapes on earth.
You're coming to the real Liwa: the vast golden dunes of the Empty Quarter. The same dunes where Denis Villeneuve filmed DUNE. Your kids are about to become Fremen.
What's happening:
Slip & slide on the dunes — we set up a proper run straight down the sand face
Pool & sprinklers — cool off in the desert heat with a splash zone set up in camp
Guided dune walk — explore the towering dunes of the Rub' al Khali with a certified UAE Trekkers guide
Recreate DUNE — walk the actual filming locations and channel your inner Paul Atreides. Costumes welcome.
Kids games — organised team games and outdoor activities led by our guides, zero screens involved
Parents actually relax — this is supervised, structured fun. You can breathe.
Itinerary:
2:00 PM Arrival and welcome drinks and snacks
2:00-4:00 PM Slip and Slide, Swimming and Sprinkers and dune slides
4:00 - 5:00 PM: Family Team Games
5:30-7:00 Sunset Dune Walk and DUNE Scene Recreations
7:30 PM: Dinner
8:30 PM: Bonfire and Smors: Stargazing
