Our longest-running and most beloved experience, the Liwa Desert weekend has been bringing our community into the Empty Quarter since 2017, running each season from October through April.

As the desert begins to warm and another Liwa season draws to a close, this retreat marks our final return to the dunes before summer arrives.

Since 2017, Liwa has been the heart of UAE Trekkers — a place where strangers become friends, where the noise of the city fades, and where the vast stillness of the Empty Quarter reminds us how simple and grounding life can feel off the grid.

This finale retreat is not about distance or difficulty. It is about presence, connection, and experiencing the desert one last time before the season ends.

More than a trip, Liwa is a retreat — an intentional escape from the city into vast landscapes, quiet evenings, and shared moments that stay with you long after the weekend ends.

This experience is designed to help you slow down, reconnect with nature, and experience the raw beauty of the Liwa dunes in a way that feels both adventurous and deeply restorative.

The Retreat Experience

Arrive and settle into the calm of the desert landscape, taking time to slow down, relax by the pool, and transition away from the pace of daily life.

In the late afternoon, we walk together across the dunes for a gentle sunset trek — pausing often, taking in the quiet, and watching the desert shift into evening.

Back at camp, enjoy a refreshing swim before gathering for a shared dinner beneath the stars. Evenings unfold around the bonfire with conversation, reflection, and the warmth of community before retreating for a comfortable night’s rest.

At sunrise, we return to the dunes when the desert feels most peaceful — soft light, cool air, and the quiet clarity that only early mornings in Liwa can offer — followed by breakfast and one final moment to soak in the experience before heading home.

Terms and conditions:

1. Event will only happen if we have all clear and safety in the country at the time of departure

2. If for any reason the event cannot happen, the next Liwa event is March 28-29 or April 29-30. If you cannot join either of these events, you can get a credit for next season to join at any time throughout the season. We have 7 events planned throughout the season starting in october through April. We cannot offer refunds as we have to pay for rental which will need to be paid for in advance and is non refundable under their terms and conditions.
