Our longest running and most popular event, running 5 times every season from October through April since 2017. Its a retreat and an escape from the city and a unique way to experience the desert all in a weekend!

It is an amazing opportunity to experience the amazing Liwa Desert at an affordable price. Arrive, relax and have a swim and take a sunset hike through the dunes to watch the sunset. When you return have a quick dip in the spring fed pool, Enjoy a full buffet dinner, bonfire with marshmallows and s’mors, then head to sleep in comfort to wake up early for a sunrise hike and a swim in the pool.

Guided Hikes Through the Dunes

We have been hiking through these dunes since 2017, we know the best way to walk 10km through the desert to both give you the look and feel of trekking alone in the Empty Quarter without seeing a piece of civilization, yet still knowing that we have quick emergency access to get out fast if we need to.

Saturday: Sunset Hike

4 pm Arrive at the residence in Bateen
5:00 - 7:00 pm: a short hike to Sunset and return after
7:00 Swim!
7:30: Dinner
9:00 pm bonfire
10:00 pm: Lights Out

Sunday: Sunrise Hike
5:00 am: Wake-up
5:30 - 9:00 am: Sunrise hike
6:00 am: Coffee/Tea snacks in the dunes
9:00 am Finish Hike + shower/swim
9:30 am: Breakfast
12:00 pm: Return home to Liwa

What to Bring:
- Sneakers are fine, you will just have to dump the sand out of your shoes frequently! Or, you can go barefoot.
- We will loan you a backpack and some trekking poles if you need them.
- Sun Hat, sunglasses sunscreen
- Walking poles (optional)
- Swimsuit and towel
- Hoodie for Morning Hike
- Change of Clothes for after hike

- Towel & Toiletries

Cancellation Policy
This trek will go ahead with a minimum of 3 people booked. If the trip is not filled up 2 days before the hike, you will be refunded in full.

DESERT ROUTE DETAILS
Sand Dunes BUT ITS NOT LIKE THE BEACH!
WE TAKE A Flexible route which can easily be adjusted for difficulty.
Saturday Hike: 2 hours. 4KM
Sunday’s morning: up to 10k in either the steep red dunes or the lower dunes being conscious of the sun heating the sand up by 9:00 am
