Overview of Rainbow Valley -
Benefits of Having a Guide on This Hike
• Identifies the safest routes up and down rocky and exposed sections
• Provides clear verbal coaching so you can complete difficult moves safely on your own
• Avoids unsafe physical assistance that can increase risk on technical terrain
• Manages pacing, timing, and group energy throughout the hike
• Adjusts the experience based on hikers’ abilities and conditions
On this route especially, the value of experienced guidance becomes very clear as you watch the dangerous and risky moves performed by the many crowds around you without them.
Rainbow Valley sits in the heart of Fujairah’s eastern mountain zone. hikers begin a walk into a canyon sculpted in dramatic bands of red, ochre, white and black sandstone—creating a natural rainbow effect across the rock layers
Trail Description: approximately 7 km round trip, with 150–250 m of climbing over about 3 hours at a gentle pace due to the amount of scrambling required which takes longer. Most of the route follows the wadi floor, with boulder-hopping and light scrambling required. The signature highlight is the richly colored cliff walls—alternating rock bands that seem painted and give a magical scene that is a joy on a weekend morning!
Trek Level - Intermediate. Lots of bouldering, exposure to heights and some uphill at the beginning that people without good fitness may struggle with. Scrambling also requires whole body effort. Good fitness is essential.
Location & Car Access: 1 hour 45 minutes from Dubai. We will park on the side of the road with no off road access required.
Distance & Duration of the Hike: Approximately 7KM one way trail, with 260 of elevation gain over the entire trek, this will take about 2.5 hours to complete the circuit.
Running shoes are fine on this trail, but hiking boots are always recommended.
