Fly on 29th on Air Arabia. Overnight in Almaty and the trip will begin on Sunday the 30th until Tuesday, Dec 2nd for 3 days. Fly back on Tuesday evening. Hotel: Reunion Park Hotel for 3 nights.

Journey into the cave!

We will stay in the in Almaty each night but every morning will have a new adventure in the snow. You will definitely need winter clothes for this trip as the temps can be very cold, but as long as you are dressed properly, its a lot of fun. Heavy down jackets can be borrowed from UAE Trekkers for 250 Dh for the duration of the trip that will keep you cozy warm. A full kit list can be found below..

Here are the activities we are planning in our new Winter Wonderland Tour over the National Day Holiday

• Explore hiking in the mountains with shoe shoes

• Climb to a glacier at 2400 m

• Climb to a cave and learn ice climbing inside the cave

• Ice Skating in the Outdoor Skating Rink in Meteo

This tour is 4 days and 3 nights with the hotel starting on Saturday night.

• Travel Day: Friday

  Today is the travel day, arrive on in the evening after work on Friday. Have dinner in the city and relax for the night in the hotel.

• Day 1: Toukyuk Su Gorge: Snowshoeing in Snow

  Activity Highlights: Snowshoeing adventure, scenic cabin lunch

  • Morning: Pick-up from your hotel, transfer to the serene Touyuk-Su Gorge.

  • Snowshoeing: Trek up to 2600 meters, enjoying fresh mountain air and wintry landscapes.

  • Lunch: Refuel with a cozy lunch at our Trekking Club cabin, a warm haven nestled in the snow.

  • Return: Head back to Almaty in the afternoon, ready for an evening in the city.

  Note: Touyuk-Su is ideal for snowshoeing due to its reliable snow cover and cabin warmth, adding comfort to your journey.

• Day 2: Talgarsky Pass: Glacier Adventure to the Caves

  
  Activity Highlights: Cable car ride, glacier hiking, ice-climbing

  • Morning: Pick-up from your hotel, drive to Medeo, and take a scenic cable car to Talgarsky Pass at 3000m.

  • Hiking & Glacier Exploration: Ascend Bogdanovich Glacier, explore the mystical Oktyabrskaya cave, and practice ice-climbing (conditions permitting).

  • Lunch: Lunch-boxes provided to keep the adventure going!

  • Return: Afternoon descent by cable car to Medeo, transfer back to Almaty.

  Note: This day promises exhilarating alpine exploration, perfect for lovers of icy landscapes and glacier adventure.

• Day 3: Hike in Big Almaty Gorge

  • Morning: Pick-up from your hotel in Almaty.

  • Drive: To Big Almaty Gorge, a picturesque mountain escape.

  • Hike: 2-3 hours on the Japanese Road, a beginner-friendly path to adjust to winter mountain conditions.

  • Lunch: Enjoy local flavors at a café in Ayu-Sai, a lush glade amidst the gorge’s natural beauty.

  • Return: Late afternoon return to Almaty, evening free to explore the city.

• Day 4: Hike in Bogdanovich Glacier Ice Skating in Meteo

  One last morning of hiking through the gorge up to the pass and around the glaciers to spend the day in the snow surrounded by pine trees and snow capped mountain peaks before we head back to Almaty to stop at the Olympic Size Outdoor Meteo Ice Skating Rink for a few hours before heading back to the city.
