Overview:
Escape the city and scale the dramatic ridges of Wadi Saham, ascending to the summit of Jabal Reham, where sweeping views take in the rugged Hajar Mountains, rolling valleys, and the distant shimmer of the Indian Ocean.
Location & Access:
Just 1 hour 15 minutes from Dubai, the route begins at the paved entrance to Saham village—accessible by any standard car, with ample parking adjacent to the striking petroglyph rock, located beside the access road.
Distance & Duration of the Hike:
Approximately 78km loop, with roughly 450 m of elevation gain, this will take about 2½ to 3 hours up the rocky wadi to reach a dramatic summit climb and incredible 360 degree view of the mountains and the Indian Ocean.
Highlights: The first 1.5 hours of this hike will take your breath away, quite literally as you push your way up to the summt through the steep wadi and winding hills to reach it through shaded rocky sections Its still entirely uphill for the first 1.5 hours so be prepared to be breathing and working hard. We recommend that you complete one hike in the last few weeks prior to this one to ensure you are adjusted to the heat. We start, as usual, to avoid the heat. After reaching the top, its all downhill but is still very exposed to the elements.
Hiking boots are always recommended but not required.
