Jebal Mebrah: Caves: Intermediate Trek

5 hour trek a loop trek through the Taween area, a rocky and steep intermediate level trail that winds a round Jebal Yebir, under the cave and through the wadi.

Sunrise is the only time to go in the summer, finish the hike by 7:30 am

Short Description: A guided hike through the middle of the wadi on Jebal Yebir. Although there is a clearly marked trail, it will be winding steeply up at the end. The interesting part will be going around the bottom of the wadi through the tall mountains around you.

The Experience:

Venture into the wild, rugged terrain of Wadi Taween on the way to Jebel Yibir (also known as Jebel Mebrah).This intermediate wadi hike is a favorite among adventure seekers for its rocky, trail and the caves hidden along the wadi walls.

The route begins near the base of the Jebel Yibir mountain, accessed via the village of Al Tawian, before dropping into the wadi itself. From here, the trail is largely unmarked as we make our way through the canyon via boulder hopping and light scrambling, following the twists of the wadi floor.

The trail forks a couple of times along the way, as we are surrounded by the dramatic backdrop of Jebel Yibir's peaks, this hike combines the raw beauty of a desert wadi with a genuine sense of discovery.

How the Day Begins:

  • Arrive at the meeting point by 5:45 AM.

  • Your guide will brief the group before the hike begins.

This hike is suited to adults with a good level of fitness. Comfortable hiking shoes are recommended, along with sun protection.
